Why won't Cycles render using my GPU?

In Blender 2.80, if I try to render an image in the viewport using Cycles and selecting "GPU Compute", I see this message:

Loading render kernels (This can take a few minutes the first time)

then after a few seconds, the message changes to "Cancel"

A similar message appears when I go to "Render Image," but I also get another message:

OpenCL Error (-46): CL_INVALID_KERNEL_NAME

After looking through the system console I see messages like,

OpenCL build failed with error CL_BUILD_PROGRAM_FAILURE, errors in console.

OpenCL program split_holdout_emission_blurring_pathtermination_ao build output:

Error: The binary is incorrect or incomplete. Finalization to ISA couldn't be performed.

and

OpenCL failed create program from cached binary C:\Users\tlo17\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.80\cache\kernels\cycles_kernel_split_lamp_emission_EF7F7659968A832AB454669B1DAE2CE8_918BDEB31B09C4E8A7FEB8E7751A263B.clbin: CL_INVALID_BINARY CL_INVALID_BINARY

I'm trying to use an AMD Radeon R7 M260 to render. I made sure to install the latest driver updates and restarted, but the problem still persists. My 2 GHz Intel Core i7-4510U (8 GB RAM) renders the image without issues, but it's rather slow. How do I fix this issue?
