Vista Group Policy & Firewall Mess - Emergency Help Needed * Please

Dell Vostro 1700 running Vista business. Laptop was working fine but when we had to get a new wireless printer, I discovered I could not connect to it. After searching the culprit points to the firewall and the group policy. On the firewall it will not update or go to where you can select on/off or allow a program through it. I downloaded a scanner from Microsoft and ran to detect any virus but found nothing. I also did sfcscannow but that did nothing. On a question/answer 2010 (this site), people said try gpupdate, rsop.msc. The rsop brought the message no more endpoints on the endpoint mapper. eh? What does that mean? How to fix so printer connects?
