Show doc when using snap to side/full screen feature?

I'm not sure the name of the feature, but I like working with windows, browsers and apps "snapped" to fit in the screen.

If you hold down the top left green button of an application or window and then move to the left or right it will auto "snap" into place and adjust in size to fit half the screen. You can then add another app to the other side of the screen.

The issue here is that I am unable to access the dock without leaving the snap mode which is disruptive to work flow. If I already have other apps open I can use Command + Tab to move between apps, but that's not really what I want.

Example, I'm currently using two monitors and one of them has two apps snapped onto either side of the screen. Since my dock is set to show on the left, as opposed to bottom or right, if I hover over the left of my screen the dock won't appear because it's in this full screen mode. I'd liek to open a new application on the spare screen but now have to exit full screen mode then readjust/re-snap my apps after doing so.

Feels like I'm doing this wrong.

Is there a way to access the dock in full screen / snap to screen mode when I have dual monitors and need to access the dock on hovering on the right or left?
