MySQL Server not starting up, mysterious reason, need some more insight

I'm running Ubuntu 16.04 and I've installed this version of MySQL Community Server
mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.7.23, for Linux (x86_64) using EditLine wrapper

When I try to run it using sudo service mysql start I get this output:

Job for mysql.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status mysql.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.

When I try to run sudo systemctl status mysql.service, I get this output:

● mysql.service - MySQL Community Server
Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/mysql.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled)
   Active: activating (start-post) (Result: exit-code) since Tue 2018-08-14 05:02:02 EDT; 3s ago

When I try to run sudo journalctl -xe, I get this output:

I'm sorry for the bad question formation, but I honestly don't know what's wrong here. I've spent hours on this and haven't come to any solution. I don't know where I should be looking. Could someone help, please?
