Is there a good hosted (saas) solution like Squarespace for managing sub-brand websites that are all very similar?

I am trying to find an elegant solution to a tricky problem.

We are a small assocation with a small number of member organisations -a little like a franchise. All of our global locations do more or less the same thing and have the similar requirements from their websites.

We want to keep our websties visually aligned, with the ability to modify layouts and content locally.

Many of the developers I have spoken to immediately suggest solutions that seem OTT for our needs and that will setup a very complex technology stack that will need to be managed and maintained going forward.

Drupal Multi-site has been suggested but I don't like the sound of that for various reasons, a Git style project that is centrally managed has also been suggested and this would probably work well if technical resources were available in our locations around the world to mange the sites... but they aren't.

Which leads me to ask why couldn't our sites run on something like Squarespace, or Wordpress.com, or even something a bit more complex like webflow. These services have nice user friendly backends and hosting and security is looked after as part of the service.

I now find myself asking... Is there a good hosted (saas) solution like Squarespace for managing sub-brand websites that are all very similar? Something where themes could be shared a little more easily and sites could be cloned and deployed more simply (without having to rebuild from scratch every time). Webflow looks to have some of this functionality but I'm wondering if there are others?

Any ideas or thoughts much appreciated...

Danny.
