How do I make my Ubuntu USB drive bootable?

by M_Bison   Last Updated October 20, 2019 03:02 AM - source

I can't figure out how to make my copy of Ubuntu (on my external USB hard drive) a regular bootable disk! I want it to be an option when I press "boot options" from BIOS. (Boot from USB - like how the installation USB flash drive works.)

I want to walk over to another computer and boot up from the external HD. This lets me make backups of computers, and restore them on larger HDs (to upgrade their hard drive sizes).

Thank you! Your help is greatly appreciated.
