Cannot resume from sleep on X (works on wayland)

I have a Dell Precision 5530 with nvidia graphics (just a P1000, no intel integrated graphics, no bumblebee or anything like that) running Ubuntu 18.04 (kernel 4.15-54).

I recently updated everything (apt upgrade) and am now having problems resuming from sleep. The odd thing is, I only have issues on X (default gnome and i3) but things work fine on wayland (gnome wayland). I'm using acpi_osi=! acpi_osi=\"Windows 2017.2\" in grub, and have tried all the nvidia drivers (390, 396, 410, 415, 418, 430) in ubuntu-drivers.

Is there anything else I can try to get resume working?
